Dangerous Tree Removal

The most commonly used service, and easily the most important feature of a tree company’s repertoire, is Tree Removal. Tree removal is very dangerous. Utilizing a professional tree company who not only carries ALL of the necessary insurances, but one who is well versed in the technical skills that are crucial in performing safe and efficient tree removal is paramount. Throughout our company’s history we have built a strong resume of successful tree removals that run the gamut of species, size, and location. We have yet to find a removal project that we would walk away from, and the more difficult the tree, the more interested we are to meet the challenge.

Tree Trimming & Pruning

Proper pruning is integral to the health of your tree. A good pruning job starts with the right plan. There are many things to consider when formulating a pruning plan and we can help you do that. After we have a plan, the rest is up to us to make precise and careful cuts and, ultimately, to leave the canopy better than we found it. A successful pruning will not only improve your tree’s health and longevity but will enhance its aesthetic quality. Although we perform a range of different types of pruning, we generally refer small fruit tree, and ornamental pruning to another trusted contractor. We work in tandem with some great people and are always happy to provide a referral.

View Enhancement

Western Maine is one of the most scenic areas in the northeast. Whether it be our beautiful mountain vistas, our diverse woodlands, or our scenic ponds and waterways, the beauty your property has to offer can almost always be enhanced by some form of tree work. We have worked with hundreds of clients in a myriad of settings to improve the aesthetic quality of their properties. Whether it be opening up a view of the mountains, pruning and thinning trees around your lakeside cottage, or turning the woods around your home into something resembling a German forest, someone from our team will work with you to find the best approach for your view enhancement needs.
Tree Guying & Cabling

Tree Guying & Cabling

We love trees and so do our clients. The simplest thing for a tree service to do when a tree has structural issues is to recommend a removal, and often times that is the best course of action. However, there are situations where the life of a tree can be prolonged by employing a structural support system. Whether it be cabling two large leaders of your favorite mature Sugar Maple, or guying up a storm damaged Birch tree, we can help you navigate your options that go beyond the easy diagnosis of “removal.”

Wood Chipping

Just because we didn’t cut it, doesn’t mean we won’t chip it. We are more than happy to attend to your brush/wood chipping needs. Our large chipper can handle material up to 18” in diameter so making short work of large brush piles and piles of wood is not a problem. We do not, however, chip building debris, or brush that is too dirty (caked with mud/small rocks, etc.), or too rotten/composted. Brush piles will decompose fairly quickly so if you’re planning on having your brush pile(s) chipped, don’t hesitate!

Lot Clearing

From small-scale roadside clearing projects to larger scale projects with difficult access, we have the ability to clear your lot(s) quickly, efficiently, and in a “low impact” manner if need be. If there is marketable timber on your property it will be used to offset your costs, however, seldom does it cover the cost of the project.

Storm Work

Being tucked away in the mountains, we are reasonably sheltered from catastrophic weather. However, high winds, wet snow, and ice storms can wreak havoc on your trees. If you have a hazardous storm damaged tree that needs immediate attention we will always try to heed the call. Keeping our customers’ properties safe is very important to us, and we always try to make dangerous trees a priority even if it means dropping everything to respond to the situation.

Tree Health Assessment

Tree Health Assessment

Our clients love trees, and so do we. Although tree removal is our biggest driver of revenue, we often talk people out of cutting their trees. We are always honored to give a free and honest assessment of your tree’s health, as well as help you navigate the ideal path that balances the conservation of your tree(s) and the safety of your property. If you are needing a formal letter of expertise or consultation, we do provide that service for a small fee.

Stump Grinding

Stump Grinding

After removing a tree, it is often desirable to remove the stump, as well. Unless there is a specific need that calls for a stump to be pulled out roots and all, the most cost-effective method is stump-grinding. For a reasonable fee, a stump-grinding service can grind the stump down below grade leaving a hole that can be back-filled with loam and returned to lawn, or simply a flat spot where the tree once stood. After being exposed to the outstanding service of Mike Bibeau of Mike’s Stump Grinding, we have opted out of purchasing a stump grinder until further notice. Mike has ground hundreds of stumps for our many clients over the years and we have never received a bad review.

Fruit Tree & Ornamental Pruning

Although we have the capabilities to do small-scale pruning of fruit trees and ornamentals, it is less cost effective for our customers to hire us to do it, as it is often times tedious and time-consuming. We work in tandem with a local contractor who takes great pride in her work and provides a reasonable rate for the tedious task of reviving over-grown and/or neglected fruit trees and small ornamentals and shrubs. Her name is Beverly Blake and she can be reached at the following:

Tree Fertilization & Trunk Injection

Tree Fertilization & Trunk Injection

Many of our clients have beloved trees on their properties that they deeply value and want to protect. Aside from cyclical pruning there are other methods to ensure the longevity and health of your favorite tree(s). One method is tree fertilization. Sometimes trees do not get the nutrients they require for a full and healthy diet, and fertilization can help provide the nourishment a tree needs to thrive, or in some cases survive. Another service that is offered in the spirit of tree health is pest and disease mitigation. By way of trunk injection, giving your tree the right “elixir” to ward of various types of disease, deficiencies, and insect infestations, can be paramount for your tree’s health and well-being. We work in tandem with a licensed arborist who understands what medicine to use, and when to use it, to give your tree(s) the best shot at a long and healthy life.
